The Publishing Triangle’s Finalists List Has Some Surprises.

This year’s Publishing Triangle Award Finalists list has some surprises.  For a start, Nicole Dennis-Benn’s Patsy is not a finalist for any of these awards.  More on this later.  Also, Bernardine Evaristo’s Girl, Woman, Other has been nominated for the Ferro-Grumley Award for LGBTQ Fiction–along with Ocean Vuong’s On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous.  That means The Publishing Triangle must choose between a Booker Prize winner and a MacArthur Genius.  Queer Reader doesn’t envy The Publishing Triangle–but it will be interesting to see how this turns out.

It should also be noted that Saeed Jones’s How We Fight For Our Lives is a finalist for the Randy Shilts Award for Gay Nonfiction.  QueerReader strongly recommended this book–calling it “astonishing”.

It is once again time to congratulate all the finalists.  Click here for the complete list.

This year’s Publishing Triangle Award Ceremony has been canceled.

The winners will be announced by the Publishing Triangle on April 30th.
